Aptly, the day preceding her memorial. the window I had designed and made for Sue and Glenn’s house, in payment for the red dog Ona-Viking Ulf, got installed today. I could and have castigated myself for not completing it sooner, Sue only ever saw images of it half completed on my work bench. She generously would say “all in good time, when you have finished the PhD”.  The design alludes to drawings and photographs we took of the oak trees and garden outside Fernhill; another collaboration and a way of bringing the outside inside for her. Hence the areas of sandblasted and acid polished glass on the sides that interact with the garden beyond, draw the eye betwixt and between the inside and outside. She was imagining a time when maybe her life revolved around being home  more, now the home revolves around her absence.
