Having decided on what we wanted the contents to be. I spent two days at UWE digitally printing three maps onto silk, having manipulated them in Photoshop – the map with Sue’s post-it notes attached, the toilet map and the map from the Janet and Colin Bord book on ancient monuments. I then laser cut the silhouettes of the monuments through all three layers and also into card, which proved a handy stencil for the outside of the box. The maps can be viewed singly or the cut-outs lined up to provide a layered view.
Glenn and I decorated the inside and outside of the box, using data Sue gathered – maps and a repeating motif of the gates and railings that surrounded the monuments; that she found impossible to navigate beyond.
