Royal Geographic Society Conference, RGS London.
As part of the panel – Geographies of loss, grief and carrying on: the nexus of death, diversity and resilience, organised by my supervisor Avril Maddrell and Oliva Stephenson I showed the film She wonders/wanders and related it to my methodological framework, drawing on and extending Law’s idea of method assemblage (2004). Method assemblage is rooted in how I frame the relationship between theory and practice. How I develop and work through ideas and emotions through choices in materials and the immersive and reflexive processes of thinking, making and writing.
It felt good to show the film again within the context of my own research rather than as part of the collaborative Red Writing paper. I notice how the context and the frame shifts the meaning-making.
