Mollie Meager, Penny Somerville and I met at Catrin Davies studio to walk, eat, talk and play with drawing, printmaking and glass. Amongst much cooking, eating, talking and dog walking we played with vitreography. Penny had kindly brought with her materials and her small press and showed us some simple and effective techniques with engraving and creating plate tone with abrasive powders, with which we all experimented.
This is definitely something I want to work further with and also experiment with using a perspex/acrylic plate and how that effects the quality of the incised line.
The collaborative methodology of walking, eating, talking and playing was disrupted by tensions between us, this can sometimes be fruitful but can also lead to disagreement and stasis part of the rich but challenging pattern of collaborative working.
